Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, met on Sunday with the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, to discuss the latest developments on the national scene and the latest political and military developments in Yemen.
The meeting reviewed the political situation in Yemen, the efforts led by the United Nations to achieve peace and stability, and the government’s welcome to engage with the peace roadmap, with the aim of ending the crisis in light of the intransigence of the terrorist Houthi militias.
Major General Al-Bahsani stressed the need to confront the escalation carried out by the Houthi militias. He called on the regional and international community to exert pressure on the militias to force them to stop the escalation and engage with peace initiatives that seek to stop the war and achieve peace.
Al-Bahsani stressed the importance of continued international support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to face the security and humanitarian challenges imposed by the Houthi militias. He praised the US role in supporting the efforts made to achieve peace and stability. He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, through their support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to end the crisis in the country and combat terrorism in the region.
The US envoy affirmed his country’s firm stance towards the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government to end the war and achieve peace and stability in Yemen and the region in general.
