Presidential Leadership Council Member, Tareq Saleh, discussed, on Monday, with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kammoun, the latest developments in Yemen and the Houthi militias’ continued obstruction of peace efforts.

The meeting addressed the developments in the region and their repercussions on the situation in Yemen. It also condemned the arbitrary Houthi practices against aid workers and humanitarian organizations operating in the country.

Tareq Saleh praised France’s stances alongside Yemen, noting the importance of concerted international positions supporting the legitimate government at various levels to confront the Houthi threat (Iran’s arm in Yemen), which threatens the security of Yemen, the region, and maritime navigation.

For her part, the French Ambassador affirmed her country’s firm position in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government, reiterating Paris’s keenness to find a comprehensive and just peace under the auspices of the United Nations, with the participation of all Yemenis.
