Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak chaired a meeting on Sunday in the temporary capital, Aden, with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, and several heads of agencies and directors of departments within the ministry. The meeting discussed the nature of the military situation on the fighting fronts in light of the escalation by the Houthi terrorist militia, and the high readiness to deter any threats.

The Prime Minister was briefed by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, and ministry leaders on reports regarding the nature of the military situation, the conditions on the fighting fronts, and the financial, logistical, and administrative needs to enhance the performance of the armed forces in carrying out their duties. Discussions also covered the ongoing efforts to raise the level of the armed forces and improve the conditions of their personnel.

At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council to the military leaders. He expressed appreciation for all their efforts and the aspirations placed upon them during this critical stage. He praised the sacrifices and heroism displayed by the heroes of the National Army, the Popular Resistance, the tribesmen, and the Yemeni people on various fronts in confronting and defeating the Iranian-backed Houthi coup and its sectarian project.

Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak affirmed the government’s commitment, within its priorities and plans, to building a strong army based on institutional and professional foundations. He emphasized the need to neutralize the military and security institutions from political conflicts and address the conditions of their personnel, including the regular payment of salaries and the provision of necessities for the front lines until victory is achieved in the battle to restore the state, end the coup, and maintain security and stability. He pointed out that the military institution represents a symbol of discipline and stressed the importance of reflecting this in all its actions across various aspects.

The Prime Minister praised the ongoing modernization of the armed forces and all military formations at various levels, as well as their readiness and high vigilance in confronting any attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia. He commended their efforts to thwart the militia’s repeated attempts to return the situation to a state of full-blown war, without regard for the suffering of the Yemeni people, which has dragged on for too long.
