Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak made a phone call on Thursday with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.

During the call, they discussed the current situation in Yemen and mechanisms for joint cooperation between the Yemeni government and United Nations organizations to address the humanitarian and economic challenges facing the country.

The Prime Minister stressed during the call the need to exert maximum pressure on the Houthi militia to release the humanitarian workers detained by the militia, who have been detained for 100 days, stressing that the government will continue to follow up on this issue and take all possible measures to release the detainees.

They also discussed possible ways to enhance stability in the liberated areas and the importance of supporting economic development efforts and projects aimed at improving living conditions.

The two sides stressed the need to direct more efforts towards developmental solutions to enhance stability in the long term.

For her part, the UN Deputy Secretary-General reiterated that the United Nations will remain a key partner in efforts to achieve peace and sustainable development in Yemen.
