The Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, met on Sunday, at his residence in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the leadership of the Qatar Fund for Development, headed by the Acting Director General of the Fund, Sultan Al-Asiri.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation with the Qatar Fund for Development in the development, service, and humanitarian aspects, and the mechanisms for qualitative interventions required during the coming period, in line with the government’s priorities, especially in the field of electricity, in addition to the projects being implemented, and coordination mechanisms with the government to identify priority sectoral needs for urgent support, including support for climate change adaptation programs.
The Prime Minister was briefed by the Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development on the Fund’s plans in identifying priority support areas in Yemen and giving special attention to supporting efforts to increase electricity production capacity by relying on less expensive alternatives.
Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak praised the efforts and keenness shown by the Qatar Fund for Development to implement a number of projects in priority areas that have a direct impact on supporting the government’s efforts to improve the living conditions of citizens.
The Prime Minister touched on the government’s orientation to activate and benefit from promising economic sectors and mineral resources to build investment partnerships that achieve added value to improve the economic situation.
The meeting was attended by the Yemeni Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Rajeh Badi, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Engineer Anis Baharitha, and the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ambassador Mujib Othman.
