Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak met on Thursday in the interim capital Aden with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Yemen, Jorge Ibia Serra, where they discussed prospects for enhancing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, the latest developments at the national, regional, and international levels, in addition to issues of common interest.

Ambassador Serra conveyed to the Prime Minister greetings from his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sánchez, affirming his country’s support for the Yemeni government and its efforts to overcome existing challenges, its vision for implementing reforms, and alleviating human suffering. He reiterated his country’s commitment to supporting peace efforts in Yemen and ensuring freedom of navigation and international trade in the Red Sea.

The Prime Minister welcomed the new Spanish Ambassador, wishing him success in his duties to enhance the relations of friendship and cooperation between Yemen and Spain. He assured that the ambassador would receive all forms of cooperation from the government to succeed in his mission of developing and advancing mutual interests.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s vision to overcome current challenges, its stance on peace, and the international support needed to maintain economic stability and efforts to complete the restoration of the state and end the Iranian-backed Houthi coup.
