Prime Minister Dr. Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak made a field visit to the Al-Wadeea border crossing to review the procedures for handling travelers, processing their transactions, and addressing previous complaints by the new administration of the crossing.

The Prime Minister toured the crossing’s courtyard, spoke with travelers, and listened to their experiences with transaction procedures and their impressions regarding arrivals from Saudi Arabia or departures to it through the crossing. He directed the crossing’s administration and its offices to prohibit the imposition of any illegal fees on travelers and to hold accountable anyone proven to be involved in such practices.

He also emphasized the need for the crossing’s administration to take sustainable measures to prevent congestion and overcrowding of travelers, including expatriates, Umrah pilgrims, Hajj pilgrims, and visitors to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, or those coming from there. He stressed the urgent completion of job rotation at the border crossings as per the Cabinet’s decision, noting the commitment of the Ministries of Finance and Transport to implement the job rotation at Al-Wadeea crossing.

Dr. Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak directed a review of the “Carnet de Passage” prices, the customs data booklet for vehicles entering the country by land, based on complaints regarding significant price increases. He confirmed that the government will follow up with the relevant authorities on this matter and review the fees imposed on expatriates’ vehicles entering the country through the crossing.
