The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, in the presence of its members, Aidaros Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Othman Mujali, and Faraj Al-Bohsani, while members of the Council, Sultan Al-Arada, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, were absent with leave.

The Presidential Leadership Council, via video conference technology, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, the Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Mohsen Al-Daari, the Minister of Defense, and Lt. Gen. Saghir bin Aziz, the Chief of the General Staff, discussed developments of the economic, living, and military conditions in light of the continued threats by the terrorist Houthi militias. They also discussed the militias’ gross violations of human rights, and the repercussions of their terrorist attacks on oil installations and international commercial ships.

The Council renewed its support for the path of economic and service reforms led by the government in order to improve living conditions and strengthen the status of the national currency, in close coordination with regional and international partners.

The Presidential Leadership Council praised the economic and development interventions by the brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate the suffering of Yemeni people, and the state’s continued fulfillment of its imperative obligations, first and foremost the payment of employee salaries, supplies of goods, and basic services.

The Council was briefed on the military position of the armed forces in all its formations, and their high readiness to deter any escalation by the Houthi militias on various axes and fronts.

The Council praised the high vigilance shown by the armed forces and all military formations in confronting the attacks of terrorist militias, and thwarting their repeated attempts to return the situation to the square of comprehensive war, without regard to the long-term suffering of the Yemeni people.

The Presidential Leadership Council renewed its call to the Houthi militias to exercise reason and deal positively with the good endeavors led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to bring peace, stop the bloodshed, prioritize the interests of the Yemeni people over any other interests. The Council called the militias to stop openly compromising in the pain of the Palestinian people and their just cause, and instead empowering Yemenis to build their just state that respects human rights and the rule of law.

The Presidential Leadership Council held an emergency meeting chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, in the presence of its members, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Majli, while Council member Faraj Al-Bohsani was absent with an excuse.

The Presidential Leadership Council discussed developments in the national arena, most notably living and service conditions, economic and banking reforms, and the Houthi terrorist threats to return the scene to the square of comprehensive war.

The Council reviewed the letter of the UN Special Envoy, Hans Grundberg to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, which included a request for support by the President and members of the Council to launch a dialogue under the auspices of the United Nations to discuss the recent economic developments and ways to resolve them in a way that serves the highest interest of the Yemeni people.

In this regard, the Council affirmed its adherence to a clear agenda for participating in any dialogue on the economic file, including resuming oil exports, unifying the national currency, and canceling all arbitrary measures against the banking sector and the financial and business community.

In this context, the Council noted the reforms led by the government and the Central Bank of Yemen in order to improve living conditions, control the deterioration of the national currency, protect the banking system, strengthen oversight of banks and their foreign transactions, and optimally respond to disclosure standards and compliance with requirements for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The Council affirmed its continued deterrence of the arbitrary practices of the terrorist Houthi militias, while adopting the utmost flexibility and openness to discussing any proposals that would strengthen the independence of the banking sector and the legal status of the state in the interim capital, Aden.

The Presidential Leadership Council also discussed the terrorist threats of the Houthi militias, proxies of the Iranian regime, regarding resuming the military escalation and returning the situation to the square of comprehensive war, without regard to the long-standing human suffering.

The Council called on the Houthi militias not to escape from internal and popular pressures, and the people’s priorities for living, towards threatening disastrous adventures. The Council called on the militias to stop adding to the pain of the Palestinian people and their just cause, after this propaganda has proven its falsity, and its failure over the past years, to change the convictions of the Yemeni people, regional and international positions.

The Presidential Leadership Council warned the terrorist militias against returning to the option of comprehensive escalation, which would double the suffering and destroy the remaining components of life and the scarce sources of livelihood for the Yemeni people. The Council warned the militias not to neglect the good endeavors led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to end the war and restore the path of peace, stability and development, stressing at the same time the readiness of the armed forces in all their military formations to deter any hostile adventure.

The Presidential Leadership Council held an extraordinary meeting on Friday, chaired by Dr. Rashad Mohammad Al-Alimi, President of the Council. The meeting was attended by Council’s members: Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Majli, while Council members Sultan Al-Arada and Faraj Al-Bahsani were absent with excused absence.

The meeting was held to discuss developments in the national situation at all levels, first and foremost the repercussions of the terrorist Houthi militias’ capturing of three Yemeni Aircrafts (Yemenia), detaining them along with their navigational and technical crews at Sana’a Airport, and preventing their return to complete the transport of Yemeni pilgrims stranded in the Holy Land.

The meeting also touched upon the economic conditions, and the measures taken to achieve monetary and service stability, and alleviate the human suffering exacerbated by the terrorist Houthi militia attacks on oil installations and international shipping lines.

In this regard, the Council praised the deposit of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of a new tranche of the generous royal grant to the general budget. The Council commended the keenness of the Kingdom to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in order to fulfill the inevitable obligations of the state.

The Presidential Leadership Council considered the Houthi militia’s seizing of the aircrafts of the financially and administratively independent airline, as a full-fledged terrorist operation. In addition to its grave violations that have affected national and international air and sea carriers over the past years.

The Council approved the formation of a government committee headed by the Prime Minister and the membership of the relevant authorities to manage the crisis, and restricting the militias’ use of the seized aircrafts until further notice. This also includes the release of the aircraft that has been held for maintenance for two months, and lifting the ban on the company’s frozen funds, which exceed $100 million.

The Council held the terrorist militias fully responsible for the repercussions of this dangerous escalation, which would further deepen the suffering of citizens and affect the conduct of the national carrier’s flights, inflicting heavy losses on it.

The Presidential Leadership Council discussed the ongoing arrangements to hold a new round of consultations on the file of detainees, kidnapped, and forcibly disappeared persons, under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Omani capital, Muscat.

The Council renewed its keenness to support the efforts and endeavors aimed at ending the suffering of detainees, kidnapped and disappeared persons and reuniting them with their families according to the “all for all” principle, foremost struggler Mohammed Qahtan, who is included in the UN Security Council resolution.

The Council also discussed the widespread kidnapping campaign launched recently by the terrorist Houthi militias against dozens of employees of United Nations agencies, and international and local non-governmental organizations, in flagrant violation of national legislation and international laws and conventions.

The Presidential Leadership Council stressed the importance of exerting maximum pressure to push the militias to release all those kidnapped unconditionally, and to accelerate the procedures for moving the main headquarters of international agencies to the interim capital, Aden. The Council stressed the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and appropriate environment for the work of these organizations, and providing their services to all Yemenis in all governorates of the country.

The Council also renewed its full support for all government economic measures to improve living conditions and rationalize spending, in priority are the decisions of the Central Bank of Yemen aimed at protecting the banking system, ending monetary distortions, strengthening oversight of banks and foreign banking operations, optimal response to disclosure standards and compliance with requirements for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The meeting also discussed developments related to the opening of roads in Taiz Governorate, Marib, and other areas, and the necessary guarantee measures to end the militia siege of cities, and facilitate the movement of individuals, money, goods, and the activities of humanitarian organizations.

The Council noted the usual popular awareness for the plans of the Houthi militias, the requirements for opening roads, and the sustainability of their security, including international supervision of the repositioning of forces stationed on the contact lines and clearing the lands of mines and terrorist militia snipers, in accordance with the truce understandings and the Stockholm Agreement.

The Presidential Leadership Council warned the Houthi militias against trying to exploit these humanitarian issues to achieve opportunistic gains, and to circumvent the measures taken so far by the government and local authorities with the aim of ending the suffering of citizens after years of unjust siege.

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh discussed with the chief of the Coast Guard Service, Major General Khaled Al-Qamali, efforts aimed at strengthening maritime security.

The meeting touched on mechanisms for strengthening the capabilities of the Yemeni Coast Guard, including raising its operational readiness and improving the skills of its members, with the aim of ensuring the security and safety of Yemeni territorial waters, islands, coasts and liberated ports.

The discussions covered plans to develop the capabilities of the Coast Guard, including advanced training programs and modern equipment, to enable it to perform its tasks with high efficiency in several areas, including combating human trafficking operations and the smuggling of weapons and drugs through maritime routes.

Tariq Saleh stressed the importance of the role played by the Coast Guard forces in protecting the Yemeni maritime ports and enhancing the country’s national security, stressing the need for concerted efforts among the various relevant parties to ensure the success of this mission.
