On Thursday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zindani, met with Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the International Relations Committee in the Russian Parliament (Duma).
During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop and strengthen them.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of parliamentary relations between the Yemeni House of Representatives and the Duma, praising the historic bilateral relations with Russia and the supportive stance of the Russian Federation’s government towards the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Yemeni people.
He renewed the government’s commitment to engaging with all efforts made to end the war and achieve peace in Yemen based on the nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed references.
In turn, the Chairman of the International Relations Committee in the Russian Parliament expressed the solidity of Russian-Yemeni relations, confirming the readiness of the Russian Parliament to work towards developing parliamentary relations with the Yemeni House of Representatives, including the exchange of visits and delegations, and joint coordination in regional and international forums.
The meeting was attended by Yemen’s ambassador to Moscow, Ahmed Al-Wahishi.
