On Tuesday, the Republic of Yemen chaired the emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives to discuss ways of Arab and international action to stop the brutal acts of genocide and forced displacement committed by Israel, the occupying power, against the Palestinian people, particularly in the northern Gaza Strip.

The chair of the meeting, Acting Permanent Representative of Yemen to the Arab League, Ambassador Dr. Ali Mousa, reiterated the position of the Republic of Yemen in condemning the brutal genocide committed by Israel, the occupying power, against the Palestinian people, describing it as a crime against humanity.

He emphasized the need to mobilize efforts and unify positions to pressure Israel to end its war in Gaza and its attacks in the West Bank, and to initiate a peace process that restores to the Palestinian people their inalienable rights to freedom and independence, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state with sovereignty along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
