The Republic of Yemen chaired, on Wednesday, the meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, in its 29th session at the level of Arab Ministers of Transport, which was held in the city of Alexandria in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
In the opening, the Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdulsalam Humaid, welcomed the participating delegations in Yemen’s speech, saluting the Minister of Equipment and Transport of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for the efforts he made during his presidency of the previous twenty-eighth session of the General Assembly of the Academy, praising the achievements made by the General Assembly of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.
The meeting addressed several topics related to the progress of the General Assembly’s work, its activities and developments, its ranking at the global and Arab levels, as well as the topics submitted by the General Assembly at the expert level and the necessary recommendations, and took decisions regarding them to contribute to the development of the educational process, its quality, and its advancement to the level of the fourth generation using artificial intelligence and to achieve the sustainable development goals.
He said, “The Academy has achieved great and distinguished successes in a short period as a leading institution in education. During the current year, it achieved a distinguished ranking in the Times Higher Education ranking for 2024, based on its success in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.”
