The Republic of Yemen participated on Friday in the extraordinary session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, held on the sidelines of the high-level international forum on youth, peace, and security, taking place in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with a delegation led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Al-Bakri.

The meeting discussed, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Assistant Secretary-General Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, and the Chairman of the Executive Office of the Council, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, the role of youth in enhancing security and peace, deepening communication ties, and reinforcing Arab identity and belonging.

The meeting also touched upon the general priorities of the participants within the executive plan of the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace, and Security for the years 2023-2028, and mechanisms to enhance youth participation in issues of peace and security.
