Doha – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the judicial and legal fields was signed between Yemen and Qatar on Wednesday in the Qatari capital, Doha, during the official visit of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak.

The MoU was signed on the Yemeni side by Minister of Education Tariq Al-Akbari, on behalf of the Minister of Justice, and on the Qatari side by Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim Al-Muhannadi.

The MoU aims to enhance and expand horizons of joint cooperation between Yemen and Qatar in judicial, legal, and judiciary affairs, as well as training, exchange of expertise and information, and organization of meetings and scientific seminars related to judicial, legal, and judiciary matters.

The MoU also aims to strengthen cooperation between the Ministries of Justice in both countries in the fields of exchanging diverse judicial and legal experiences. Additionally, it bolsters cooperation in the field of documentation, exchange of expertise and best practices in legal professions, and various judicial procedures and services.

Following the signing ceremony, the Minister of Education expressed his pleasure at signing the agreement, which comes to enhance the distinguished relationship between the two brotherly countries. He emphasized that this agreement, within the framework of the Prime Minister’s official visit, is a culmination of the mutual keenness to find additional areas of joint cooperation between the two countries.

In turn, the Qatari Minister of Justice affirmed the keenness to support the joint relations between the two countries in the judicial and legal fields. He praised the bilateral relations between Qatar and Yemen in various fields.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Ambassador of Yemen to the State of Qatar, Mohammed Aboud, and the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs at the Qatari Ministry of Justice, Sheikha Hind bint Faleh Al Thani.
