The Yemeni Embassy in France organized a special screening of a documentary about Socotra Island, as part of the embassy’s celebrations of the national holidays of September 26, October 14, and November 30, in the presence of several diplomats and individuals interested in Yemeni affairs from the French side.
The film, directed by French filmmaker Eric Korn, aims to highlight the environmental and cultural significance of the island, which is listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
Yemen’s ambassador to France, Dr. Riyad Yassin, expressed his appreciation to the attendees for their interest in Socotra Island, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between Yemen and France in preserving environmental and cultural heritage.
The audience expressed their fascination with the beauty of Socotra Island and its unique biodiversity, praising the breathtaking natural landscapes and the rare plant and animal species showcased in the film. They commended the efforts to document this global natural treasure, stressing the importance of its preservation and enhancing international cooperation for its protection.
