A bilateral Yemeni-Qatari talks session was held today, Sunday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, chaired by the Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, and the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

The two sides exchanged discussions on several developments and events on the national and regional arenas, and mechanisms to enhance the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, as well as the role Qatar can play in supporting the Yemeni government’s efforts to achieve economic stability.

They also consulted and exchanged views on regional, Arab, and international developments, foremost of which are the developments in Palestine in light of the continuing war by the Zionist entity and the crimes of genocide it is committing against the Palestinian people, and the ongoing Qatari efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

His Excellency the Prime Minister briefed his Qatari counterpart on the latest developments in the Yemeni arena and the government’s ongoing efforts to address various challenges, as well as the reforms being implemented within the framework of the general direction to enhance transparency, accountability, and combat corruption.

Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak also touched on peace efforts, the roadmap, and the developments in the Red Sea, debunking the false narratives linking the Houthi escalation and piracy against commercial ships to what is happening in Gaza.

The Prime Minister praised the level of Yemeni-Qatari relations and the mutual commitment to advance them towards broader horizons of development, and to find developmental and investment partnerships in promising sectors, serving the mutual interests of both countries and peoples. He highlighted the Qatari stance supporting the Yemeni people and their government under various circumstances, and its swift response to support those affected by the rain disasters that recently swept through several Yemeni governorates.

In turn, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister welcomed the visit of His Excellency the Yemeni Prime Minister, affirming his country’s constant support for Yemen and its people, and its keenness on expanding partnership frameworks with the Yemeni government.
